start

Trap started buying vinyl in 1999 when he found out Snapshot by Roni Size would never come out on cd. After that it was all over, new black plates got bought on a regular basis. First he was harassing his hiphop friends so he could play on their turntables, but after a year Trap finally got his own, and he could practise whenever he wanted.

demo time

After doing loads of tapes for friends it was finally time to step up and give a tape to TYSON of the FORMS kru. It wasn't quite there yet, but Trap steadily provided TYSON and UNREAL with new and improved mixes, and after a while he was asked to play the first hour at FORMS. More gigs came, around Arnhem, Deventer and other places, meaning more live experience outside the trusty bedroom.

forms

Around 2004 Trap joined the FORMS kru after FOX left. First he occasionally played the warm-up slot, but after more improvement he was on the line-up every single month. The hook-up with FORMS and constant production of fresh demo-mixes, resulted in more gigs around Holland. Peaking early 2006 with a gig or two every weekend.

Summer 2006 Unreal & Trap played at the Rainbow festival in Slovakia, one of the, or the best gig they ever played at, with the crowd going crazy till the early morning, it was an unforgettable night.

In 2007 Trap is rolling on strong, playing around the country here and there and in Germany last march. He's done a podcast for 0031 podcasting and has plenty of fresh plans for the rest of the year.

style

Drum'n'bass being the small, specialist genre it is, Trap likes to play right across the board. Liquid, technoid, jump-up, drumfunk, or whatever silly subgenre name you can come up with, may be played in a Trap set. With a general disregard to "good taste" and purists Trap likes to see a dancefloor full of people enjoying themselves.
